Sony BRAVIA KDL-52W4100 Customer Review
I purchased this TV in the late 2008 and have found it to be an an absolutely good buy.
Some people said that the tv set has problems while the black shades are dynamic. Ilooked at this in the store for couple of minutes and have used it for a month and I haven’t seen any sign of that issue. This is a super sharp TV with brilliant colors and deep black tones. This TV is so much better than the previous TV W model.
Here are the the reasons why you should get this tv set. It has a very good image in digital broadcast and does a extremely nice job in standard definition transmission much better than some other TVs I have seen. For that it’s respossible a great technology from Sony called DSP which is basically noise reduction technology. Sony is familiar with Blu-ray because they invented it, they are familiar what skin tones should appear I mean they hold a movie studio, the tv menus are really easy to use, it has a built in TV guide and it has capability for future expansion.
Image quality is very close to Samsung in digital broadcast. I looked at both televisions side by side. Samsung is slightly better on clarity in analog broadcast. Samsung has more glare, Sony is a matte screen but blacks on Samsung are solid because it has a glossy screen. While testing with a Blu-ray disc,Sony is showing a more detailed image. No fade from bright to dark issues on Sony as some reviews has said. Colors are nice and bright as Sony Bravia 2 engine is outstanding, perhaps even better than XBR engine.I have found that the Z series is better but there isn’t 52” models
Tv menus on TVs are made for experts with a lots of tweeks, but really it’s unclear for average Joe. If you doubt that, get the user instructions for the Samsung LN52A650 and for Sony KDL524100 and see the difference. If you are technical individual, then buy Samsung. If you don’t want to mess around, but you want an excellent picture, you should buy Sony. Ths Sony TV is truly simple to use, but also it it will find you channels itself and is like you have built in cable box.
The Sony tv Set may not have the Ethernet connector and built in news like the series 6 from Samsung, but it does have the built in TV guide and future expansion. But, if you want internet in your TV, you are better to be connected through external device. The TV guide feature in this tv is great and the Sony Bravia Sync is great particularly if you are using a Sony DVD converter for 1080p. Picture in Picture technology is great as well because it’s allowing you to view picture from HDMI while viewing cable TV.
For me favorite characteristic on Sony KDL52W4100 is the on/off button on the top side as this is keeping children from turning off televison. Also a great thing is the remote on the Sony as it is quite easy to operate.
So, if you want the a very clean picture, easy to use LCD TV with features that makes usuall television viewing fulfilling and easy. This Sony KDL52W4100 is good choice.
